Congratulations to the recipients of the Washington Square Park Community Arts Grant program.
Each of the grant winners—selected by a panel of community members and arts programming experts—will present free cultural programming in the park this summer. The Conservancy has awarded $5,000 in grants this year.
Grants were awarded to groups presenting concerts, films, dance, and an open air library in the park this summer. We’re excited to have returning grantees, as well as new grantees this year.
This initiative was developed to help support community organizations and local arts groups who have built a strong relationship with the Park and Village neighbors.
“We have had some success in fundraising from local businesses, the WSPC Arts Grant was of great use to us in our continuing commitment to pay the musicians a living wage. The funds from the WSPC Arts Grant gave us a sense of security and support from the WSP community in presenting this annual festival.” – Eli Smith, Producer, Washington Square Park Folk Festival
