The Washington Square Park Conservancy proudly supports a wide array of free public programming. We partner with local businesses and artisans to bring options for kids and adults of all ages and abilities. All events listed are hosted by WSPC unless otherwise noted.

Weekend Community Clean Up
Spend the second Saturday morning of each month volunteering with us and give back to the park you love! Work consists of weeding, raking leaves, mulching, planting, and other projects – whatever is necessary to keep Washington Square Park clean, safe and beautiful.
Volunteer on Earth Day
Spend Earth Day morning pitching in at your park! As a community we'll tackle whatever task the park needs most - weeding, raking leaves, mulching, planting, and other projects.
Jane’s Walk Kick Off
Celebrate Jane Jacobs and get excited for Jane's Walk 2024! Join the Municipal Arts Society of New York for a walking parade around Park with marching band Honk NYC then gather together for a speaking program and fun Jane's Walk resources.
Yoga
Move, stretch, and start your morning off right with this open-level vinyasa class, led by CorePower Yoga. Bring your own yoga mat, and we recommend a bottle of water.
Pétanque
Interested in learning to play pétanque? Stop by the Washington Square Park pétanque courts for free lessons and casual play every Wednesday. Members of La Boule New Yorkaise (one of the oldest pétanque clubs in the U.S.) have been playing in Washington Square Park since the 1970s, more…
Salsa Social
Dancers of all ages and skill levels come together at this weekly Salsa party. Kick things off with a free class from 6-6:30pm and then open dancing the rest of the evening with incredible instructors from Salsa Dura NY.
bodyART
bodyART is a PTBT (physical therapy based training) movement experience. Break a sweat and be gentle on your joints as we explore joyful movement. Please bring your own workout mat or towel and we recommend a bottle of water.
Double Dutch
Thursdays 6:00-7:00pm Garibaldi Plaza Learn to double dutch! The Double Dutch Aunties will teach you the fundamentals of street-style and competitive jump rope. For updates/changes due to weather, please check Instagram or Twitter.
Artist Residency
Spend a Saturday afternoon learning a variety of artistic practices from a rotating group of incredibly talented local creators! Residencies change month to month.
